"Great read every day. Makes me smile as Rab muses about music and his irreverent views on the EU. Tune in, you won't be disappointed."

"Excellent 'Blog' which can be controversial at times, while maintaining it's humour. Keep it up Big Rab!"

"Updated every day with doses of good humour, political satire, a running commentary on the progress of author's home football team and his life."

"Pure brilliant, so it is - I never miss it, though God knows, I've tried."

"An inspiration to start my own blog"

"For dipping into it's better than pakora sauce"

"Anyone who doesn't like the EU and has a soft spot for Albion Rovers can't be all bad"

    "Facile and False"

    "Populist,puerile and prosaic"

"Utter pish! Keep it up, I love it!"

"People may also find the Ben Lomond Free Press blog illuminating, interesting and/or amusing. It’s not mentalist as such but familiar themes emerge. I particularly like accounts of encounters with strange elementals (of course! ELEmentals!) from elfin safety. And the fact that the blog is run by someone who plays in a blues band called Harmonica Lewinsky."

Style Guru

I was hoping that this year at Christmas I could do something innovative like my first ever blog post in 3-D or perhaps have Daniel Craig drop in. However instead I’m in the kitchen enjoying a bacon roll and a large cup of tea. I thought that I could perhaps get the day off from insomnia but the awake call came as it does regularly at 4am.

Watching a few videos on Youtube this morning. Do you ever get drawn in by something that you know you should hate but there’s just that something about it? In a previous life as a DJ more years ago that I’d care to remember, there would often be a smash hit record which would be a guaranteed floor filler. A record which would invariably be awful but would have tapped into the consciousness of a nation.

If the tune had a video with a dance routine in it, then apparently so much the better. Examples of such tunes from way back would be things like Rapper’s Delight, Come on Eileen, Uptown Girl, Celebration, Oops Upside Your Head, All Sit Down etc. etc…..

Do you know what’s coming yet?

Completely hellish….awful.

Having your fingernails removed slowly by pliers whilst someone poured vinegar on them would be a more pleasant and rewarding experience.

Car crash video.

Yip. On this my 54th Christmas, This is my earworm and eyeworm. I secretly watch it when there’s no one around. It’s heading for two billion views and probably 10% of them are by me.

It would seem that I’m in exalted company, although the Obamas don’t seem to care who knows:

  1. Thanks Rab for showing me what all the fuss has been about and what I’ve been missing out on……………………………………NUCHIN! I thought you should have put the zombie Ford ad after your story about picking up your supplies.
