"Great read every day. Makes me smile as Rab muses about music and his irreverent views on the EU. Tune in, you won't be disappointed."

"Excellent 'Blog' which can be controversial at times, while maintaining it's humour. Keep it up Big Rab!"

"Updated every day with doses of good humour, political satire, a running commentary on the progress of author's home football team and his life."

"Pure brilliant, so it is - I never miss it, though God knows, I've tried."

"An inspiration to start my own blog"

"For dipping into it's better than pakora sauce"

"Anyone who doesn't like the EU and has a soft spot for Albion Rovers can't be all bad"

"People may also find the Ben Lomond Free Press blog illuminating, interesting and/or amusing. It’s not mentalist as such but familiar themes emerge. I particularly like accounts of encounters with strange elementals (of course! ELEmentals!) from elfin safety. And the fact that the blog is run by someone who plays in a blues band called Harmonica Lewinsky."

Foresight

I went to the opticians today and told him I could see nine years into the future.

It turns out that I have 2020 vision….

North Korean Food News

Haven’t checked in at the North Korean News Agency recently. Here’s an ideal recipe for this sultry summer weather:

Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) — Chogyethang, a cool chicken broth mixed with mung-bean jelly, is one of the Korean people’s favourite dishes in summer.

The broth is a good appetizer for those who lost their appetite for sultry weather.

Jelly is made with mung beans first. Then a clean soup is made by boiling chicken and seasoned with soy sauce, salt, mustard and vinegar.

A bowl is filled with mung-bean jelly, broiled cucumber, chicken, fried beef balls, broiled sea cucumber and mushroom and pear, garnished with sliced boiled egg and pine nuts. And cool soup is poured into the bowl.

The broth is considered one of the special dishes for holidays and entertainment of guests in the country.

"It's very nice. What is it?"

All I can say is mung beans, broiled cucumber and sliced boiled egg? mmmmm!

Also, the news agency reports on some of the more traditional food animals in North Korea:

Pets’ Tricks Enjoy Popularity in Pyongyang Zoo
Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) — The Central Zoo in Pyongyang is always crowded with people.
Pets are most popular among the animals. They display their talents, drawing many people.

Their program begins with toy dogs’ hurdle-overcoming.

They also mount their hobbies, accompanied by cheerful melodies.

The program includes monkeys’ feat performance.

Their stunts enjoy a big hand. After performance they wave their hands to acknowledge the spectators’ cheers.

The program is crowned with a skipping rope trick performed by dogs together with monkeys.
