"People may also find the Ben Lomond Free Press blog illuminating, interesting and/or amusing. It’s not mentalist as such but familiar themes emerge. I particularly like accounts of encounters with strange elementals (of course! ELEmentals!) from elfin safety. And the fact that the blog is run by someone who plays in a blues band called Harmonica Lewinsky."

Red Card? You Bet!

Here are the facts so far.

In last night’s Motherwell v Hearts game, Motherwell midfielder Steven Jennings was given a straight red card by ref Steve O’Reilly.

Jennings, who had already been given a yellow card earlier in the game, was sent off for a verbal assault on the ref for not awarding a penalty, followed by the player ‘touching’ O’Reilly.

The Association of British Bookmakers are now investigating irregular betting patterns concerning bets that a player would be sent off in the game. This outcome paid 10/1.

The ABB have reported their suspicions to the SFA

One bet made in a Liverpool bookmakers was believed to be for £500.

There has been no comment so far from the SFA, the SPL, Mr O’Reilly or the Liverpudlian Steven Jennings.
