"Pure brilliant, so it is - I never miss it, though God knows, I've tried."

"An inspiration to start my own blog"

"For dipping into it's better than pakora sauce"

"Anyone who doesn't like the EU and has a soft spot for Albion Rovers can't be all bad"

    "Facile and False"

    "Populist,puerile and prosaic"

"Utter pish! Keep it up, I love it!"

"People may also find the Ben Lomond Free Press blog illuminating, interesting and/or amusing. It’s not mentalist as such but familiar themes emerge. I particularly like accounts of encounters with strange elementals (of course! ELEmentals!) from elfin safety. And the fact that the blog is run by someone who plays in a blues band called Harmonica Lewinsky."

White Out!

It’s been great having my friend Alastair and his wife Ann staying over the weekend. However our itinerary was altered somewhat from the original plans. Although we made the planned, and very enjoyable lunch with friends on Saturday, the referees strike put paid to the Dumbarton game with Alloa. As it turns out the game wouldn’t have on anyway because of the weather.

Before things deteriorated yesterday!

The weather in question was the deepest November snowfall I can remember and meant that our friends’ planned return to Campbeltown via the A83 Rest and be Thankful as well as other country routes would have been insane to attempt. The police agreed and closed of parts of the A82 and A83 yesterday.

All this meant that our guests had an extra night here which included emergency rations in the shape of a delicious takeaway curry last night.

Hopefully the snow plough will carve out their route home today although if another curry is required tonight, so be it!!

  1. Rab,You should visit “The Wee Toon” and experience a curry and a warm embrace from Mr Moto, especially after a visit to Springbank.
