"Great read every day. Makes me smile as Rab muses about music and his irreverent views on the EU. Tune in, you won't be disappointed."

"Excellent 'Blog' which can be controversial at times, while maintaining it's humour. Keep it up Big Rab!"

"Updated every day with doses of good humour, political satire, a running commentary on the progress of author's home football team and his life."

"Pure brilliant, so it is - I never miss it, though God knows, I've tried."

"An inspiration to start my own blog"

"For dipping into it's better than pakora sauce"

"Anyone who doesn't like the EU and has a soft spot for Albion Rovers can't be all bad"

    "Facile and False"

    "Populist,puerile and prosaic"

"Utter pish! Keep it up, I love it!"

"People may also find the Ben Lomond Free Press blog illuminating, interesting and/or amusing. It’s not mentalist as such but familiar themes emerge. I particularly like accounts of encounters with strange elementals (of course! ELEmentals!) from elfin safety. And the fact that the blog is run by someone who plays in a blues band called Harmonica Lewinsky."

Thank You Friends!

We had a great time at our 25th wedding anniversary on Saturday night. I’d like to thank everyone for their contribution, especially those who came along and did a turn on stage. A special mention goes to the witty David ‘Kit’ Carson for his opening remarks, Kenny Cairns MBE for his brilliant Jazz moothie playing, and Patrick Rolink for his cutting wit and repartee- ‘I went to Poland recently – there’s naebody there!’. Also big thank you to the band Used Blues for their great set and apologies to them for things running late meaning that they didn’t get on stage till an hour later than planned.

Caterer Robert Sloan at Dumbarton FC didn’t disappoint with a fantastic spread.

Perhaps though the best thing about the whole night was that our guests and other friends who were unable to come raised a magnificent sum for Epilepsy Action. Once the gift aid supplement has been factored in the total is more than £1500! Thank you!

The staff at Epilepsy Action UK are just brilliant. They provide help and information for sufferers and their families via their helplines and produce an excellent publication which keeps people updated on latest developments on the condition. This kind of service needs funds to keep it going and we are delighted that our celebration has contributed in a significant way to this.
