Over the time of this government the cry has been to get folk out of their cars and on to public transport. Toll charges, congestion charges, traffic calming, pedestrianisation (pauses for breath). I notice from The Times that Peter Mandelson has put pressure on Woolies’ bankers ( a subsiduary of Barclays) to be more patient about the situation. One can see the reasoning here.
