The other day I posted this article about my cousin Mandy who has just got a job as a field reporter in Afghanistan with CBS for the next year.

Here is her first televised broadcast for CBS.

Kabul Calling

I got an email from my cousin Mandy yesterday.

She was telling me about landing her dream job. As jobs go, foreign correspondent for CBS is probably fairly sought after.

However Mandy’s dream job happens to be CBS foreign correspondent for ………………Kabul.

However this is right up Mandy’s street. She has reported from Afghanistan before for VOA (Voice of America).I must warn you that this report contains some pretty disturbing pictures and subject matter.

This was one of Mandy’s reports from the Beijing Olympics where she was reporting for VOA

Mandy has Scots descent on her father’s side, was born in South Africa, raised in Canada, married an Irishman and has travelled the world.

She is young, highly articulate, politically aware and has striking good looks (what d’ya mean she can’t be related to me?).

She and John visit us when they can and always keep in touch with my old mum.

We are immensely proud of her.

If you read this Mandy – For goodness sake BE CAREFUL.
