Thanks

To those of you who came along to the Harmonica Lewinsky gig at Coopers in Helensburgh last night. When we finally got on stage at 11:30 the place was ‘heaving’. As usual the audience were fantastic.
Respect to the guy who seemed to know the words to our new self penned song!
Plenty money raised for the [...]

Lewinsky – Rare Sighting! (and Sounding)

Yes folks a rare chance to see Helensburgh’s (and the Vale’s) finest Blues/R&B band a week on Saturday.
Once again the gig is for children’s charity and organised by Tommy Sharkey. Tommy’s band aren’t appearing this time but there are several other bands and artists playing on the night.
The Lewinskys will be the final band [...]

Seventies Cheese – The Steve Gibbons Band

With the old Chuck Berry number Tulane.
Any members of Harmonica Lewinsky care to comment?

Still Here

Keep looking in, but my postings may not be as regular over the next few weeks due to a number of commitments and matters which require my attention.
One of the more pleasant of these is the return of Harmonica Lewinsky at Coopers James St. Helensburgh this Sunday (23rd August). The gig is another one for [...]

Doctor Feelgood – Back in the Night

Harmonica Lewinsky are back rehearsing and all being well we’re headlining another charity gig at Coopers in Helensburgh on Sunday 23rd August. Our new guitarist is my old friend Keith (check out his contribution on my Helensburgh Blues) whom I first played in a band with 33 years ago.
Back then we played this song.
Last [...]

Goodbye or Farewell?

We had a terrific night last night at the charity concert at Coopers in Helensburgh. I’ve been promised some footage of the gig by some friends which has not so far appeared. In the meantime here are some great photos of Harmonica Lewinsy and our backing singers, Heather and Lynsey, The Lewinskyettes. The photos [...]

Saturday Gig

Anyone of youse coming along to the gig on Saturday should note that there’s been a time change. Whilst the gig times are the same, Harmonica Lewinsky will now be on at 10pm and not 8pm as previously scheduled. Sorry if this mucks people about in any way.

Lewinsky Gig

This Saturday (11th April) Harmonica Lewinsky play Coopers in Helensburgh in a fund raiser for Yorkhill Children’s Hospital in Glasgow. The charity “Songs for Aedan and Friends” was founded by Helensburgh man Tommy Sharkey and I’ve been involved in a couple of events to raise money. Last year Tommy and his team of helpers raised [...]

Lewinsky Appearance

I have been asked by some readers (Dylan and Debbie) to keep youse informed of any (rare) live musical appearances of Harmonica Lewinsky. Smiler, Martin and myself will be appearing at Coopers James St Helensburgh on 11/04/09 along with a guitarist yet to be coerced.  It will only be for half a dozen or so [...]

Lewinsky No More?

(Harmonica Lewinsky that is)
Aye indeed. Following our guitarist’s decision to leave recently, sadly our drummer Martin tells me he must chuck the sticks on health grounds. Martin played in Hamburg in the 60’s with people like Richie Blackmore, and I’m sure readers wont mind my repeating my favourite Martin story (there are many!!) which I [...]
