It looks like sometime today or maybe tomorrow, this blog will pass a total of 10,000 hits, which isn’t bad in the first three months. The switch to WordPress is something I don’t regret at all. Thanks everyone for looking in and keep the comments coming.

I’m just back from my week’s holiday and rarin’ to go once again. A couple of days before I went I discovered that I could time posts to appear each day hence the rather derivative and unoriginal hue to the BLFP in the last seven days (but at least it kept things going). I notice [...]

Recently I posted two photos of the Dumbarton FC team , one from 1971-72 and the other from 72-73. The second of the two photos pictured John Cushley who was one of the finest players ever to wear a Dumbarton shirt. John was what we would refer to today as an “uncompromising” defender. [...]

Sad to see that my friend Gilbert aliasHelpless Dancer has decided to quit his interesting, information filled (mainly music) blog. It was he along with Alastair at the Heart Monitor who gave me the taste for this compulsive passtime.

For your wedding tomorrow at Airth Castle. Graeme is a fellow former “Supporter of the Year” of mine at DFC and does a marvelous job compiling and editing the club match programme. On such occasions people sometimes dig out embarrassing photos of the groom but not me oh no! Click on the thumbnail to view!

After posting the item below, news reaches me that at last night’s council meeting the SNP and independent George Black along with SSP member Jim Bollan voted through £10,000 funding for a feasibility study into opening up High Street Dumbarton to traffic once more. The decision I am sure is not unrelated to this week’s [...]

More than 3000 visitors have now stopped by in the first month of my blogging at WordPress. I may have quite some way to go before I am even approaching blog heavyweights like Alastair but the numbers stopping by are certainly more than I had with Vox. I find it a more rewarding experience too [...]
