There’s all these English newspapers and radio stations in Spain providing for the large ex pat British (mainly English) community in the Costa Blanca.
I was interested to read that one of the columnists in the Euro News (Costa Blanca North) was none other than Leapy Lee!!
Leapy owns a bar in Majorca and still goes around singing his hit apparently…..
It turns out that Leapy (catchphrase – Keep the faith – geddit?) rivals Richard Littlejohn by laying forth about good old Blighty, charity begins at home, send all the immigrants back (Just to recap, Leapy Lee lives in Majorca), have pride in your Union Flag, Gor blimey guv…..etc. etc.
Leapy Lee is 73!

Anyhoo, yesterday morning I was strolling around the upmarket resort of Moraira. Lots of flash cars and Rolex watches (real and fake) and many of those are owned by nouveau riche Russians. I snapped this menu at one of the restaurants:
Now bearing in mind that this is the starters section of the menu, the cheapest one comes in at 12 Euros. Looking down the list to the bottom I see this:
I checked the English translation.
For a moment I thought it said Beluga Caviar 225 Euros for 100g……
Christ! It said Beluga Caviar 225 Euros for 100g!
So isn’t that life? Yesterday afternoon I’m hob-nobbing with millionaires in the balmy sunshine in Spain. Tonight I’m in my kitchen with the rain battering off the window reminding me that tomorrow morning I drive on the left……

“I wonder if anyone (without googling) can tell me what connects Little Arrows with this song?”
Did Albert Hammond write them both?
Indeed Jack.
Mr Hammond also wrote the Pipkins’ “Gimme dat ding” as well as a few other horrors, sometimes co writing with Mike Hazlewood.
