Bon Voyage

Indeed Bon Voyage to Jenifer and her family who are of to Ireland on Sunday and will follow the route described by Van Morrison in his monologue ‘Coney Island’. Sue and I took the same journey in 1998 and I wrote about it on my old Vox blog. The posting remains although in a rather jumbled fashion here and that’s where Jenifer found TBLFP.

Magnolia

Every so often you get one of these moments when you think that life ain’t so bad after all.

Sometimes they are unexpected.

Sometimes they can occur at the most unlikely times and locations.

Last night, having just walked through the playground of the now derelict and decaying Hermitage Academy with the dog, such an occasion arose.

Always an eysore, now a derelict one.

I looked straight ahead to see this magnificent magnolia in full bloom:

My phone wasn’t quite the standard of camera required to capture the charm of goldfinches which flitted around the branches, but I stood and watched them for a few minutes in the warm spring evening air until Sally, the mystified dog, got impatient and started barking.
