I haven’t referred to the terrible earthquake there.
What do you say?
Terrible, awful unimaginable – that just about covers it.
My pal Brian was moved to write the following in the aftermath:
Grate Britain
AnElephantCant grasp international relations
He thought New Zealand was an ally of ours
A Commonwealth friend
Who fought to the end
In both terrible futile World Wars
We’d really love to help our dear subjects
But you know there’s a wedding this year
Our Queen is sincere
The message is clear
We might send out the odd volunteer
Mr Cameron says we all stand with you
That should help dig you out of the rubble
The Aussies just say
Everything’s on its way
We’ll do anything to get you guys out of trouble
Good people are dying in Christchurch
Are we doing all we can to assist?
Or do we not really care?
It is away over there
They’re not British so they won’t be missed …….
